Staycation

Paris is cool and all, but what happens when you've got only a couple of days to spare? We asked our store managers what they'd suggest eating, bringing, and doing while vacationing in their own city - here's what they had to say:

Where to eat:

Prince Street Pizza, best pepperoni slice anywhere!

Things to do:

Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Prospect Park and of course, a rooftop BBQ!

What to bring:

The Victory Shorts are essential for summer staycation in the city. The Organic Cotton Crew Tee is made of 100% cotton - this coupled with the shorts makes you feel like you're wearing nothing at all!0625_Staycation_04

Where to eat:

Italian is probably one of my favorite cuisines that consistently delivers. My go-to spot in San Francisco is La Traviata, it's in The Mission & the ambiance of the establishment is traditional Italian culture (you feel like you're in someone's home) which helps amplify the experience.

Things to do:

Dolores park is one of the city's hot spots to relax with locals & enjoy a view of the ever-changing SF skyline. I prefer the outdoors so I'd also recommend The Palace of Fine Arts too. The Greco-Roman style really ties in San Francisco's rich culture & uniqueness of the city. The outdoor structure has a really peaceful energy where you can not only enjoy the scenery, but also lay out a blanket & bathe in the sun. You also can't forget about Golden Gate Park! You have a variety of options including hiking to the bridge, going row boating or even seeing the bison that live there.

What to bring:

The Bedford Backpack & the Leather Bound Journal would be ideal! The city is rich with architecture and culture. The Bedford really helps with carrying your essentials throughout the city (water bottles, a Rocky & sunglasses!)  I personally love lounging in the sun & brainstorming in the city. A journal would not only help me stay on track with an itinerary, but help when I'm jotting down any creative ideas that come to me.

Where to eat:

I love to eat locally and on Abbot Kinney. Los Angeles is filled with a lot of different areas and places to eat, not to mention the West Side of LA. Whether it’s eating fine dining at Chinois or visiting my local Ramen joint called Ocean Park Ramen, Santa Monica is filled with great places to try!

Things to do:

Some great places to check out in LA are, of course, the beaches – you can do crazy Venice beach or opt for a more leisurely beach experience up the coast at Will Roger’s State Beach. Take an amazing drive through the canyons on Mulholland Drive or check out the city skyline at the Griffith Observatory.

What to bring:

The Dad Cap is perfect for when I’m running around the city and if I'm jumping in the car and traveling somewhere (camping, or even just renting an Airbnb in the city) – having the Computer Tote is pretty essential when I want to toss all my belongings in and go!
