Meet Our Designers: Greg & Lissa

Alternative founder and Chief Creative Officer Greg Alterman and Design Director Lissa Zwahlen are the talented duo behind the comfortable Alternative collections that we love so much. With every collection, both creative minds turn their inspirations and ideas into reality - most recently with Alternative's Oasis of Color collection. For the spring 2012 line, design guru Lissa dished on her favorite looks while Greg gave us the details on his favorite classic Alternative styles. Below are their top picks!

This Valentine's Day, we wanted to help our shoppers create an original do-it-yourself tee for their loved one or a special treat for themselves, so we hend a "Love is in the Air" DIY event this past Saturday at our Abbot Kinney flagship store.

Inside Alternative: Tiffany Ruiz

Street fashion aficionado and design extraordinaire, Tiffany Ruiz is the latest addition to Alternative’s Los Angeles Design Lab. Coming from a lifelong interest in fashion which led her to a design career, this California girl has what it takes to create super comfortable and fashionable pieces for our brand. As Alternative’s Women’s Designer, Tiffany brings tons of creative ideas to the inspiration board in order to build the brand’s seasonal collections.

Inside the Brand: Project Alternative

Last night, members of the Alternative family gathered together at our headquarters to participate in a competition inspired by the popular fashion design television show, Project Runway. Atlanta and L.A. employees with a wide range of fashion design backgrounds entered into the Project Alternative competition. Some had a head start as they are designers in our L.A. office, while others had a chance to express a rarely seen creative side as members of our Warehouse, Human Resources and Customer Experience departments.

Obsessed with Burnout: Katie Holmes

Ever since Alternative perfected the classic burnout tee in 2007, celebs have been falling for the comfortable, fashionable fabric that has been made into a variety of colors and styles for both men and women. Back in 2010, we even introduced burnout fleece styles that have the look of vintage burnout but the feel of warm fleece. And lately, Katie Holmes has been seen rocking a few of the burnout fleece styles!
