Founded by a passion to feed hungry children around the world, co-founders Will Hauser and Lauren Walters created Two Degrees Food. As a worldwide problem that affects over 200 million children globally, Two Degrees was created as the first one-for-one food company of its kind. By purchasing a single Two Degrees bar, you can be a part of the movement and help make a difference in a child’s life. For every bar sold, a meal is given to a starving child in need.
Two Degrees bars were originally developed in Hogen’s Boulder, Co. kitchen, but the company has now migrated the production facility over to the West Coast.
By partnering with influential organizations like Partners in Health, Valid Nutrition and the Akshaya Patra Foundation, Two Degrees has really been able to make a real impact and support the fight against childhood hunger. Through partnerships like these, Two Degrees figures out which communities need meals the most and donate them depending on the number of vegan bars they have sold.
"We try to reach children across the spectrum of hunger and give meals that are appropriately tailored," says Hauser. "In places like Malawi, Somalia and Haiti, we give peanut-based therapeutic treatments for severely malnourished children. In India, we give nutrient-dense hot meals."
And as I'm writing this post, Two Degrees has already committed to donating 460,820 meals to hungry children all over the world!
So what’s in store for Two Degrees Food in the future? They will be branching out into other food groups soon, “but for now, help us donate our millionth meal. Just buy a bar and we’ll give a meal,” says Hauser.
