Last Saturday, July 17th, ready-to-wear and swimwear designer Mara Hoffman wowed audiences at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Miami with her Swim Resort 2011 Collection, Mystic Jungle. Hoffman showcased a variety of unique silhouettes and eye-catching prints, including her original "Chief" print poncho (pictured above) made with Alternative's proprietary Eco-Fleece fabric. Lightweight and ultra-soft, the Mara Hoffman for Alternative Apparel poncho is perfect for those balmy summer evenings and late-night beach campfires. As part of the designer collaboration, VIP guests also received an exclusive custom tee in Alternative’s Big League Baseball Burnout style, designed with Hoffman's Crystal Collage artwork.
In addition to the Alternative collab piece, Hoffman introduced new shapes and styles, including a four-strap bikini with strings and beads, an under-wire bustier, a sexy new one-piece with a deep neckline and cinched bow detailing, a twisted bandeau top shown with fold-over bottom with side tie and a high-waist solid bottom with side criss-cross lattice detailing, shown with matching twisted bandeau. For beach-to-night offerings, Hoffman’s range includes a new convertible cotton jersey halter dress, which can be worn three different ways as a bandeau dress, halter dress or skirt. A black modal jersey maxi dress with her signature embroidery detail was also included, as well as a long fitted stretchy racer-back dress and a mini-dress with open back detail and lattice design, printed chiffon cover-ups and modal jersey cover-ups.
