New music this week from Goldfrapp! Their fifth studio album Head First is out March 23, but we're in a day early with their current single "Rocket" which is tearing up the charts both in the US and the UK.
Every Goldfrapp album has a very distinct personality, from their first album Felt Mountain with its haunting, cinematic theme to their last album, Seventh Tree, which was marked with plenty of acoustic guitar and a folksy, mellow vibe. Head First has followed in the footsteps of their electro-disco hit album Supernature, but with an affinity for the early 80's - like that amazing Olivia Newton-John vs. ELO vehicle Xanadu. The single "Rocket" kick off the album with a swing and a stomp that will shoot you into the stars.
And yes, we've got a giveaway this week (even though I wanted to keep it all for myself). We're gonna give one winner a copy of the new album Head First plus any item in our burnout collection. If you're color coordinating with the music for a bedroom dancefest in front of the mirror, I'm going to recommend either our new violet or cobalt color.
