I've been seriously coveting all the new spring collections hitting stores and the internet these last few weeks. I know half the country is freezing right now, but that doesn't mean we can't all daydream about more clement weather. And what better way to do that than to start planning a new warm weather wardrobe? You've probably noticed that pastels are big this season, with a bit of an 80s flair. Here's my own take on the trend plus some of my favorite spring picks from Alternative Apparel.
Left to right: The Jamie Button-Down (pictured above), The Teka Scoop Tee, and The Modal Silk Pullover Hoodie.
I love the freshness of this palette, evocative of breezy afternoons and warm spring rains. For a laid-back Sunday brunch kind of look, try pairing soft pastels with khaki (another spring trend), natural leather and loose, flowing pieces, like I did above. For an edgier take, mix it up with the unexpected - a touch of Miami Vice fluorescent pink, a pair of distressed jeans or a vintage black leather jacket.

I love the combination of colors. The fluidity. The particular photo has a Stephen Meizel aura. Love it.
