Not to add insult to injury, but don't you think it's a little ironic that a show about a man who can bring people back from the dead is getting canceled prematurely and there's nothing they can do to save it?
If you haven't seen a single episode of Pushing Daisies, then I honestly think you are missing some magic from your life. Creator Bryan Fuller* calls it a "forensic fairytale" - "forensic" because they're solving crimes but, unlike your regular episode of CSI, it takes place in a reality that's sprinkled with fantasy. It's like Tim Burton on a bright sunny day - the characters are quirky and randomly burst into song, the costumes are a radiant technicolor scheme, and the pie shop downtown looks like... a giant pie.
ABC decided to cancel this delightful show earlier this year (despite garnering tons of praise from critics and myself and all of my friends that I have forced to watch it) but had three unaired episodes remaining. The first of the three finally aired last week, so this Saturday (at 10/9c) you can tune in and catch the penultimate episode of Pushing Daisies!! Last week, we got a little glimpse into the budding romance between Olive Snook (played by Kristen Chenoweth) and Randy Mann (played by season 2's extended guest star David Arquette), which, if you're watching this show, you know is a big deal. Could Olive finally be getting over Ned?! WATCH AND FIND OUT. Season one is already out on DVD so you can totally catch up.
